Angelina Jolie's father, Jon Voight, had not been aware that his daughter was sexually harassed by Harvey Weinstein.

On Wednesday, the "Maleficent" star's dad was spotted at the Los Angeles International Airport, where he was asked if he knew that Jolie was one of the Miramax co-founder's victims of sexual harassment. "No, I did not," Voight told Daily Mail.

When pressed for further comment, the "Midnight Cowboy" actor said that his daughter spoke about it in passing, but did not talk about the sexual harassment in depth. "Angie's spoken about that and that's it," he explained.

While Voight declined to comment further on Jolie's sexual abuse claims against Weinstein, he shared his opinion on sexual harassment and assault in Hollywood, hinting that the issue has always existed. "This happens anywhere people have power over other people. They can misuse it and of course it's going to happen," Voight added. "Generally speaking, people are respectful."

Jolie is just one name in the long list of female celebrities who accused Weinstein of sexual misconduct. "I had a bad experience with Harvey Weinstein in my youth, and as a result, chose never to work with him again and warn others when they did," she said. "His behavior towards women in any field, any country is unacceptable."

Meanwhile, Jolie and Voight had been estranged from each other for years. The father and daughter had been at odds with each other, with Voight accusing the latter of having "serious mental problems." Meanwhile, Brad Pitt's ex-wife criticized her dad for allegedly having an affair while he was still married to her mom. Jolie and Voight reconciled in 2011, and since then, their relationship has improved.

In August, the "Mr. & Mrs. Smith" star was spotted with her father and daughter Vivienne, 9. They walked together to drop Vivienne off to her Color Me Mine class in the Sherman Oaks neighborhood in Los Angeles. According to eyewitnesses, the trio was having fun as they laughed and chatted along the way.

Jolie also expressed her gratitude for the support her dad gave her following her split from the "Allied" actor. According to Jolie, Voight helped her with the kids while they were going through a rough time. "He's been very good at understanding they needed their grandfather at this time," Jolie told Vanity Fair. "I had to do a therapy meeting last night and he was just around. He knows kind of the rule—don't make them play with you. Just be a cool grandpa who's creative, and hang out and tell stories and read a book in the library."
