I have fallen in love with Fijian culture, says Taka Dimi Ta (Bollywood dance group) director Narendra Kumar.

Mr Kumar with his 12 artists at Labasa Town Council on Wednesday while having lunch with the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North contestants said he was surprised to see Fijians being so humble and friendly.

“We have performed at Vodafone Hibiscus Festival in Suva and now the Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North Bollywood night at Subrail Park in Labasa,” Mr Kumar said.

“We have three more shows to perform at different centres and festivals in Fiji before we head back to Delhi, India,” he said.

Mr Kumar said this was the first time the group was performing in Fiji.

“Our group was formed ten years ago and since then we have been performing live shows, movies, albums and many more,” he said.

“A few days ago we had performed three shows in Tuvalu before their prime minister.

“Returning to Fiji after those shows is an awesome feeling.

‘Having seen fellow Indian menfolk make us feel like we are in India.

“To be pampered with love and friendly service from Fijians makes us feel like being at home.

“Should we be given the opportunity to return to Fiji to perform we will surely return.”

Special Administrator for Labasa and Savusavu Town Council Vijay Chand thanked the Indian High Commission second secretary Hindi and Social Activities Anil Sharma for organising the Bollywood group performance.

Meanwhile, Vodafone Festival of the Friendly North media liaison officer Vincent Sahayam said Parmod Enterprises Limited has extended their bus service hours to 11pm till Saturday.
