Netflix’s new movie “Mudbound” is absolutely worth watching.

I won’t drop spoilers in this article because I don’t want to ruin it for anybody. It’s way too good of a film for that.

The plot of the film, according to IMDB, reads: “Two men return home from World War II to work on a farm in rural Mississippi, where they struggle to deal with racism and adjusting to life after war.”

I was very excited when I first read the plot and saw the trailer. It sounded very intriguing.

I made the decision to sit down and watch the film. It was outstanding but incredibly dark.

“Mudbound” isn’t a movie that you’re probably going to wanna watch more than once. It’s brutally violent, depressing and there is next to no joy in this film. Contrasts between the poor blacks of Mississippi and the rich whites are constantly a focal point in most scenes.

However, it never comes off as a lecture. Instead, the film grips the viewer and refuses to let go. Again, you probably should skip this one if you have a weak stomach. There are some moments you’ll be reaching for the remote and thinking about turning it off.

Carey Mulligan, Garrett Hedlund, Jason Clarke and Jason Mitchell all turned in great performances. Those four are the main reason why the movie is so impactful.

Check out this movie if you find yourself with a couple free hours. I promise it’s worth your time.
