Ryan Reynolds is teaming up with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick for a Cluedo movie.

The actor's production company Maximum Effort has made a three-year first look deal with Fox to make projects for the studio. Deadline reports that the first of these movies will be a film based on the classic murder mystery board game.

There has been a Cluedo movie before of course, in the form of 1985 comedy caper Clue (the board game's US title), though it's thought Reynolds's take will be a standalone retelling of the game.

The actor is also lined up to star in the film, adding yet another role to his ever-increasing roster.

He will return as Merc with a Mouth antihero Deadpool when Deadpool 2 is released in May this year. We'll also be getting the movie two weeks earlier than planned after Fox bumped up the release date to May 18.

Reynolds is also signed up to voice Detective Pikachu in the forthcoming live-action movie.

Based on the beloved Pokémon character, the film will follow the adventures of a boy (Justice Smith) who teams up with the yellow detective to help find his kidnapped father.

The Cluedo movie will reunite Reynolds with Deadpool writers Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick. Their other writing credits include Zombieland, with Reese also attached to its forthcoming sequel.

Deadpool 2 will be in cinemas from May 18.
