Russell Brand has revealed he had a cheeky snog with Meghan Markle - but can barely even remember it because he was high on drugs.

The Essex comedian confessed to the discretion to Loose Women panelists Andrea McLean, Janet Street Porter, Lisa Riley and Stacey Solomon, saying it happened during shooting of his Hollywood film Get Him to the Greek.

He admitted to Janet that was "still out of it" at the time of filming, so couldn't remember the film until he watched it back later.

When asked whether was truth to the report of a snog with Meghan, the cheeky comedian said: "As a matter of fact it is.

"But let me say, before you get carried away with it - there’s a wedding on Saturday, focus! - she was in a film that I was in, Get Him to the Greek, it was a bloody good film.

"Meghan Markle, didn’t know at the time because she wasn’t married to a royal person so I wasn't paying attention. I don’t remember the film that much, I think I planted one on her in the scene."

He continued: "It was scripted in the scene. I only know this because I think I saw a clip of it somewhere.

"Meghan Markle, there we go."

The naughty comedian went on to say his snog with her is a bigger scandal than her father's staged paparazzi pictures, and could even be a reason why people might stand up and stop the wedding.

He added: "They should bring that up [at the wedding]… if anyone has any reason… yeah Russell Brand snogged her in the film!"

Russell also took time during the interview to commend the NHS for their work helping his mother, who has made a "remarkable" recovery from a crash which left her with a broke back, neck and eight cracked ribs.

He said she had finished chemotherapy a month before for her sixth time with cancer, adding she has a "great spirit" of positivity which carries her through.

When asked how it affected him, he said: "When someone you really, really love has something serious happen... I’m lucky, I’ve got a programme of recovery and this means that when something serious happens I have a little word with myself and I am plugged into a support network and I know that what I mustn’t do is act all selfish and self-centred."

One of the reasons Russell got clean is for his daughter, who he said he belongs to and she is "full of joy and bossiness and rage and manipulation."

Loose Women airs from 12.30pm weekdays on ITV.
