Arrow in the Head's own Mike Sprague gave the psychological sci-fi thriller FREAKS a 7/10 review earlier this week, and tomorrow – Friday, September 13th – the film will be reaching theatres nationwide. In anticipation of the release, distributor Well Go USA Entertainment has provided us with two clips that give short previews of a couple scenes.

Written and directed by Adam Stein and Zach Lipovsky, FREAKS tells the story of

a disturbed father (Emile Hirsch) who locks his bold 7-year-old daughter (Lexy Kolker) in a house, warning her of grave dangers outside. But the mysterious Mr. Snowcone (Bruce Dern) convinces the girl to escape and join him on a quest for family, freedom, and revenge.

In the cast with Hirsch, Kolker, and Dern are Grace Park and Amanda Crew.

Mr. Snowcone is featured prominently in one of the clips in the video embedded below. When the clip begins he seems like a regular ice cream man, but as it goes on things start to get a little strange. In the other clip, Hirsch displays some unusual parenting.

Mike sold me on FREAKS with his review, even though he felt that it went on for too long, suggesting it could have been cut down by 20 minutes. I'll be giving it a chance.
