Every year Twitter users bestow the coveted title of "internet boyfriend" upon a few talented and mostly non-problematic celebrity men.

This year, actor Keanu Reeves had the pleasure of being crowned a collective boyfriend, and 2019 has been filled with think pieces, throwbacks, and Twitter accounts in his honor.

If you're a fan of Keanu, this is your year too, and you can celebrate his existence by dedicating your Halloween costume to the guy.

You can dress as the good old Sad Keanu meme, or walk around in a blazer yelling, "you're breathtaking" at everyone, but if you're in the mood to dress as an actual Keanu character, here are 12 fantastic costume options. Choose one for yourself or have a Keanu-themed Halloween party with some friends (like the Meryl Streep-themed costume party that Jeremy and Anna threw in The Mindy Project) and dress as the whole Keanu gang.

1. John Wick Keanu

One of Keanu's most badass characters is John Wick, a retired assassin who has a deep love for dogs and his dead ex-wife. Wick is a pretty stylish dude in all three films, which means that any Keanu look from John Wick, John Wick: Chapter 2, or John Wick: Chapter 3 - Parabellum would make a solid Halloween costume.

What you'll need:

  • A black shirt, tie, pants, jacket, and shoes (or this pricy pre-made ensemble if you're really dedicated)

  • A luscious head of hair (or a Keanu-esque wig)

  • A toy pistol

  • A real dog or a plush dog to carry around as a trusty sidekick

2. Keanu in Bill & Ted

Keanu in the Bill & Ted film series is another wonderful costume option. We highly suggest dressing as Ted in the 1989 movie Bill & Ted's Excellent Adventure for maximum nostalgia, but Ted in the 1991 sequel, Bill & Ted's Bogus Journey, is also acceptable. This Keanu costume will get people properly pumped for the third installment in the series, which is expected in 2020.

What you'll need:

  • A white band shirt, black vest, black shorts layered over gray sweatpants, a long sleeve orange button-down shirt, high top sneakers, and funky socks (or this pre-made Ted costume)

  • A floppy Ted wig

3. Always Be My Maybe Keanu

One of Keanu Reeves' most talked about 2019 roles was in Netflix's romantic comedy, Always Be My Maybe. In it, Reeves plays himself and though he only appears in two scenes they're absolutely hilarious and deserve to be celebrated on Halloween.

  • What you'll need:

  • A black blazer or suit jacket, preferably velvet

  • Black pants and shoes

  • A charcoal shirt and scarf

  • Thick-rimmed black glasses

  • Probably this wig again

4. Keanu in Speed

In the 1994 action movie Speed, Keanu plays Jack Traven, an LAPD SWAT officer who desperately tries to stop a bus from exploding. It's a good, classic movie, and the costume is easy as hell!

Here's what you need:

  • A long sleeve denim button-down shirt

  • A white tee

  • A brown belt and some brown shoes

  • Tan pants

  • Some sort of walkie-talkie

5. Something’s Gotta Give Keanu

One of Keanu's most underrated roles was when he played Julian Mercer, a dreamy doctor who took care of Jack Nicholson's character, Harry, in Something's Gotta Give and wound up crushing on Diane Keaton's character, Erica. Keanu played the hot nice guy beautifully, and wore some great, simple outfits.

You can dress in a sharp-looking black turtleneck like the one he sports at the end of the movie, or wear a blue short sleeve shirt and carry a bouquet of flowers around repeating the iconic line, "These are for you to give to me when you apologize." You also have the chance to dress as Doctor Keanu, which is fun.

Here's what you need:

  • Blue scrubs

  • White lab coat

  • Stethoscope

  • Probably this wig again

6. Keanu in Constantine

Keanu was a bit edgier in the 2005 film Constantine, during which he played John Constantine, a supernatural detective/demon-fighter type dude who wears a suit and tie. If you're in the mood to celebrate the horror associated with Halloween, this is the Keanu movie for you.

What you'll need:

  • A suit

  • A tie

  • A withering stare

7. Point Break Keanu

In the 1991 movie Point Break, Keanu becomes a major Cali bro. He plays a federal agent named Johnny Utah who is tasked with going undercover to befriend a bunch of surfers who are also believed to be bank robbers. It's a refreshing costume option that involves a different suit than Keanu's usually sporting in films.

What you'll need:

  • A wetsuit

  • A surfboard

  • Wet hair (perhaps a wet wig)

8. Keanu in Dracula

A lesser known role of Keanu's is in the 1992 movie, Dracula. In the film — based off of Bram Stoker's novel and directed by Francis Ford Coppola — he plays Jonathan Harker, a young lawyer. Dracula imprisons Harker after seeing a photo of his fiancé, who reminds Dracula of his own dead wife. As everyone knows, vampires have major Halloween vibes, so this costume is a perfect choice.

What you'll need:

  • A long sleeve white shirt (sleeves cuffed)

  • A brown vest

  • Brown pants and shoes

  • Maybe a WIG

9. The Matrix Keanu

Even if you're not much of a movie buff, you're likely aware that Keanu stars in the Matrix movies. He first stepped into the role of Neo — a software engineer and computer hacker who's desperately trying to figure out the world around him — in 1999 when The Matrix came out, and has returned to play the character in the years since. Another classic, badass costume choice.

10. Keanu in Much Ado About Nothing

This may come as a shock to strictly modern-day Keanu fans, but in 1993 the actor starred in the rom-com Much Ado About Nothing, which was based off of Shakespeare's famous play with the same name. He played Don John in the film, and his character's outfit looked pretty dashing.

What you'll need:

  • Black leather pants

  • A short white jacket, preferably with silver buttons and black lapels

  • A loose white button-down shirt (noticeably unbuttoned at the top)

  • Perhaps a horse if you're really dedicated!

11. Toy Story 4 Keanu

Keanu joined the Toy Story family this year by voicing Duke Caboom, a Canadian stunt driver doll who rides a white motorcycle, wears a cape, and just barely pulls off a horseshoe mustache.

What you'll need:

12. Cat Keanu from the movie Keanu

If you're torn between dressing as a cat for another year or dressing as a Keanu Reeves character, you're in luck. You can do both by dressing as Cat Keanu from the movie Keanu, a 2016 comedy that stars Jordan Peele and Keegan-Michael Key. Though Human Keanu doesn't voice Cat Keanu the whole time, he does make a cameo.

What you'll need:

Have a happy Keanu-ween, everyone.
