Bond 25: Cast of Daniel Craig’s final James Bond outing revealed

The first look at Daniel Craig as James Bond in new film No Time to Die has been released.

Just after the spy franchise’s Instagram page announced the film had completed shooting, via a photo of lead star Craig alongside director, Cary Fukunaga, Empire exclusively unveiled an image from the forthcoming installment.

According to the official plot synopsis, the film will catch up with Bond, who is enjoying a tranquil life in Jamaica when his old friend Felix Leiter (Jeffrey Wright), from the CIA, turns up asking for help.

A mission to rescue a kidnapped scientist turns out to be far more treacherous than expected, leading 007 onto the trail of a mysterious villain armed with dangerous new technology.

This villain will be played by Bohemian Rhapsody Oscar-winner Rami Malek.

Ralph Fiennes will return as M, while Léa Seydoux will once again appear as Dr Madeleine Swann. Ben Whishaw will also be back as Q.

Naomie Harris, who will also star, recently revealed that Bond producer Barbara Broccoli turned down an idea she had with Moonlight director Barry Jenkins about a Eve Moneypenny spinoff film.

“[Barry has] wanted to do a kind of badass, kickass action thing with Moneypenny, which I’m all for, actually,” Harris told Good Morning America ahead of the release of her new film Black and Blue.

“I got together with Barbara Broccoli, our producer, and I was like, ‘Let’s make this happen!’ But she wasn’t so down for it. But maybe one day; who knows? The conversation has started, at least.”

No Time to Die, which will introduce a female version of 007 played by Lashana Lynch, will be released in the UK on 3 April 2020.
