Channing Tatum and Jessie J - the celebrity couple we never even knew we needed - literally took us all by surprise when dating rumours started doing the rounds in 2018. The pair briefly split late last year, but ended up getting back together. However, they've now reportedly split up for a second time. Despite not being together any longer, we know you still like to appreciate all things Channing and Jessie just as much as we do, so here's a detailed timeline of their relationship - starting with the latest update...
30th April 2020
Just four days after Jessie posted a birthday message for Channing on Instagram (stories, not grid... just saying), the pair are thought to be back together and maybe even quarantining together, after being spotted riding a motorbike around LA together. Channing was also seen later that day at Jessie's house.
But according to Entertainment Tonight a source says the ex-couple are still just that... and despite all the Instagram posts and motorbike outings, they are just good friends. Anyone else struggling to keep up?
And here's the rest of Jessie and Channing's relationship timeline...
3rd April 2018: It all starts when we hear the surprising news that Channing Tatum and Jenna Dewan are divorcing after nine years of marriage.
They released a joint statement saying that they have "lovingly chosen to separate as a couple."
Sad times. But things change and people change and it's time to move on.
23rd September 2018: Rumours start swirling that Channing and Jenna have both moved on with new people. New people like JESSIE J FOR INSTANCE!
11th October 2018: Fast-forward to October, and the very first inkling of a rumour that Channing and Jessie are a thing comes to light. A source appears to confirm the exciting news to People, saying: “It’s very new.”
But where did this wonderful news come from in the first place? Well, someone on Twitter actually spotted them playing crazy golf.
Twitter user @MaurerPower172 writes, “Who knew a mini golf job could be so crazy. Tonight I had to watch one of my asshole ex professors make out with his fiancé, then my co-worker cut his hand open and had to go to the hospital, and finally Jessie J and Channing Tatum came in to play a round.”
15th October 2018: Get this... according to reports, Channing "really likes" Jessie.
A source told Entertainment Tonight, "Channing and Jessie's relationship is very new", the insider explained. "They truly just hit it off. It's only been six months since Channing and Jenna separated.... Channing really likes Jessie."
An eye witness also told ET how Channing and Jessie were having lunch with a group of friends in Seattle, Washington. They commented, "[Jessie and Channing] were super-sweet, super nice people. Jessie and Channing were sitting next to each other," the eyewitness said, adding that the table they were at was off to the side of the restaurant. "[Channing] had his arm around her chair but they weren't all over each other. They were very low-key."
17th October 2018: News breaks that Jenna reportedly "wasn't surprised" when she heard Channing and Jessie were dating.
A source told E!, "Jenna knew that Channing was dating and it wasn't a surprise. A friend had told her what was going on."
The source added that as long as Channing's main priority is their daughter, Everly, things should be fine.
27th October 2018: Jenna and Channing officially file for divorce. According to documents obtained by The Blast, Jenna filed for divorce in Los Angeles, citing irreconcilable differences.
The Blast also revealed that lawyer Samantha Spector submitted the documents in which Jenna asked for joint legal and physical custody of their five-year-old daughter Everly. Channing reportedly filed a response in which he agrees on joint custody.
According to the filing, Jenna also asked for her name to return to Jenna Dewan instead of Jenna Dewan Tatum.
2nd November 2018: Channing is spotted leaving Jessie's LA home IN THE MORNING! And just hours later, he take his and Jenna's daughter to Jessie's gig at LA's Wiltern Theater.
10th November 2018: Things are looking Insta-official! Jessie was at the opening night of the Magic Mike Live show in London, and couldn't resist sharing a pic of the dancers and tagging her beau on her stories.
"Magic Mike London Opening night," She wrote along with a series of emojis, including the eggplant and flexed biceps emojis. "Congratulations @channingtatum what a show... Ladies and Gentlemen you don't want to miss this."
13th November 2018: Forget Insta Stories... these guys have now gone INSTAGRAM GRID OFFICIAL! Sadly Channing has since deleted Instagram (damn it), so the post has gone, but it was a photo of Jessie on stage in London. With it, he wrote:
"This woman just poured her heart out on stage at the Royal Albert Hall. Whoever was there got to witness something special. Wow."
29 November 2018: Jessie J watches Channing Tatum's Magic Mike Live performance from a private box at the Hippodrome in London's Leicester Square. While they were conspicuous on arrival, Channing apparently came to find Jessie before the show finished, and asked her to slow dance during Ed Sheeran's 'Thinking Out Loud'.
A source at The Sun commented, "Jessie discretely made her way into the theatre through the exit door just before the show started. They didn’t sit together; he was hidden in the wings and she enjoyed her evening at a table with some friends – though they didn’t stop texting.
"But before the show finished Channing came and found her for a dance to Ed Sheeran’s 'Thinking Out Loud'. They were hugging and she was sat on his lap – they looked so happy and in love together."
4th March 2019: After months of no real sign that these two are actually an item, Channing writes a super-thirsty comment on one of Jessie's Instagram photos.
"Hottest Instagram food model in the game right now."

5th March 2019: Jessie shares a sweet message she got from Channing. She posts a screenshot on Insta Stories of Channing replying to a photo she posted. Oh, and he's written a rap for her, so...
27th March 2019: Woah woah woah. According to reports, Channing and Jessie are already discussing getting married!
A source told New! magazine, "Jessie and Channing’s relationship has been going from strength to strength lately, which has really taken their friends by surprise.
"In fact, things have got so serious they’ve even discussed getting hitched, which isn’t too surprising when you consider that Channing is a really mature guy who knows exactly what he wants.
"He’s been married before so it’s not a scary topic for him and he’s certainly not afraid of commitment, while Jessie has been desperate to find The One for some time now after a few failed relationships, and she thinks Channing could be him. She’s pinching herself she’s so happy."
28th March 2019: Channing Tatum posts a super-gushy birthday message to Jessie J. He shares a black and white photo of her on Instagram with the caption: "Wishing you the happiest day filled with all the love and all the light. You came into this world on this day and lit it on fire. You have blessed our eyes, our ears, our hearts and our lives. So thank you for just being you. You are so very special. Happy birthday Baby."
11th April 2019: Jessie posted 'Baby Shark' lyrics on Channing's Instagram.
Does this mean these guys have private jokes already? Cutttttttteeeeeee!
29th April 2019: Jessie J shares our first proper picture of her and boyfriend Channing Tatum together to celebrate his birthday. While she didn't share a soppy tribute to him like he did on her birthday, she did add a crown to his head and give us the pic, so we're happy.
2nd May 2019: Channing posted a full on naked, NSFW Instagram pic, because he lost a bet to Jessie J. Sadly, it has also been deleted when Channing got rid of Instagram :(
Jessie has clearly got everyone's best interests at heart, after the singer managed to get Channing to post a picture of himself in the shower (fully! Naked!), after he lost to her at a game of Jenga. We are blessed.
Along with a black and white picture of his body, taken by Jessie no less, Channing wrote, "I lost a game of Jenga to Jessica Cornish. 20th May 2019: Channing leaves another thirsty af comment on one of Jessie J's Instagram.
Jessie posted a photo of her taking about needing a snack. To which channing replied, "Can I be that snack?" What a smoothie...
3rd June 2019: Jessie takes to Instagram to share some sweet photos taken by Channing.
She also shared a poignant caption on a photo which has since been deleted, which Channing commented on.
Jessie wrote: "Being present in the moment. Not being on my phone as much. Loving deeper. Exploring. Doing stuff that scares me. Looking up more. Wearing comfier clothes. Simplifying my thoughts. Donating stuff I don’t need. No makeup. Laughing more. Singing for myself and not just an audience. Cooking good and eating good. Talking to strangers. Letting my hair dry naturally. Living MORE. 10th June 2019: Jessie says, despite rumours, she and Channing are taking things slow.She appeared on Amanda Holden and Jamie Theakston's show on Heart Breakfast, and when asked if she and Channing have already had the conversation about having a baby, she said: "No!"
She continued, "No, just because he’s Channing Tatum everyone’s kind of sped us up in to this, like, 'are you getting married? Are you doing this?' I mean, I've been in relationships for a lot longer than Chan and I have in the last four, five years but they're not famous so no one really cares."
Jessie added: "We're having a lovely time. And I'm very, very respectful of his situation and his [privacy]." She added: "Yeah. But he looks great naked in the shower!"

29 July 2019 - Jessie J did not respond well to questions about Channing Tatum on This Morning. During an interview with Ben Shephard and Jenni Falconer about The Voice Kids, the presenter attempted to turn conversation to Jessie's private life.
Ben commented, "The thing that I find amazing is these youngsters come and perform so brilliantly as well and they own that space. A few months ago they we had a big performance here in the This Morning studio, the Magic Mike, the whole lot turned up. I’ve not seen this Jessie... you obviously got to see it recently with Mike [Channing Tatum] himself."
Jessie abruptly replied: "I did."
Pressing further, Ben continued: "That’s a performance that seems to be quite…"
To which Jessie interrupted: “The opposite of The Voice Kids. I feel like let’s stay focused on The Voice Kids."

9 August 2019 - Jessie and Channing are reportedly moving in together!
According to The Sun, Channing is moving to the UK to be with his girlfriend of nearly a year, and they're living in a mansion... in Bury St Edmunds.
A source told the publication: “Jessie and Channing’s relationship has been going from strength to strength. They still spend a lot of time in America, but when they’re in the UK they find London quite intense so enjoy the peace and tranquillity of the countryside.
“The property they’ve been using suits them down to the ground as it’s not too far from London, but it’s really relaxing and away from all the noise so they can spend quality time together.”

30 September 2019 - Channing Tatum got on stage to film Jessie J during her performance at Rock in Rio, and it was so pure.
Doubling up as a stage mom Mean Girls style, Channing was seen filming Jessie from the crown at the festival in Brazil, where she headlined the Sunset Stage, before actually getting up on stage. He even had a special lens on his smart phone, the little love. Look closely, you'll see him jumping around in the background here:

22nd October 2019: Jessie shares some super-cute photos on her Instagram Stories of her and Channing snuggling. Apparently they went near a ferris wheel, but maybe not actually on it? Until we have photo evidence, we simply cannot confirm or deny.
4 December 2019: In case you were anywhere near forgetting, Jessie J and Channing Tatum are dating, and enjoy PDA in the shape of flirting on Instagram. The latest comes in the shape of Jessie's comment on Channing's latest Instagram, when he announced they were starting a Magic Mike Live Experience in Melbourne.
"It’s happening... we’re comin’ for you Australia. 🇦🇺 Melbourne, see you in May 2020! @magicmikeliveau #magicmikeliveau," Channing captioned the photo of him with the dancers.
Jessie commented, "I wanted it to cut to you doing Pony by the Sydney Opera House so bad Chan ... 😞" to which Channing replied, "Next time I'm in Sydney, I'll get it done."

19 December 2019: US publications report the pair have gone their separate ways following a year of dating. According to Us Weekly, the singer and Magic Mike actor are still on friendly terms.
"Channing and Jessie broke up about a month ago. They are still really close and still good friends," an insider told the publication.
People added that the decision was a mutual one, explaining: "There wasn’t any drama. They just decided to part ways."
They went on: "Channing and Jessie have different priorities and focuses that don’t really align. They had a fun relationship, but it just didn’t work out. Channing needs to be in LA a lot so he can spend time with Everly. Jessie prefers England."
8th January 2020: After splitting in December, Jessie has been sharing a number of cryptic Instagram posts. As well as one about "trying to accept the stories in our lives" and "healing", she has also taken to Instagram Stories to post a quote about accidentally hurting people.
It read, "Let's heal so we can stop accidentally hurting people we want to love because we are projecting our own wounds on to them."
It's unclear whether Jessie's talking about her hurting Channing, or vice versa, or whether it's even in reference to the split at all. Want to clear that up for us, J?
13 January 2020: Jessie and Channing have got fans excited after reuniting in Los Angeles a month after they split. The pair, who never publicly addressed the break up, were spotted shopping together at a high end store furniture store, according to reports.
"They were both dressed down in sweats and trying to be low-key," a source told E! News. "No PDA but both were in great moods and together the whole time while giving their opinions on different items."
Last month sources said the pair remained great pals following their split, so it's not entirely surprising they've been spotted together. Though of course they might also be giving things another go. Hmm...
23 January 2020: If Jessie and Channing's breakup hit you hard, you'll be happy to hear they're reportedly back on.
News of the pair's split came a month ago on 20 December 2019, when a source claimed they had decided to go their separate ways but were "still really close and still good friends."
But according to an insider at E!, the pair are already back together after their brief time apart. According to the source, they realised how much they liked each other during the break.
"They took a few weeks apart but ultimately decided they really care about each other," the source explained, before adding that they "seem very happy to be spending time together again.
"Jessie has been staying at Channing's house this past week [and they're] super-giddy around each other."
26th January 2020: Just a few days after it emerged they were back on, Jessie J and Channing Tatum upped their PDA game by attending a number of red carpet events. As well as a pre-Grammy Awards party, they also attended the Republic Records Grammys after-party and looked more in love than ever as they posed for pictures.
The day before, the pair confirmed they were an item again with a series of candid Instagram posts, including a video of them kissing. Jessie sweetly wrote alongside it: "When you put the outside whispers, noise and comparisons on MUTE and turn YOUR life volume UP full blast.

Feb 2020: Following their brief break up, Channing and Jessie appear to be closer than ever. The cute couple enjoyed an impromptu dance party at home with friends as they rocked out to Sam Smith on Sunday night. And later that evening, the 'Price Tag' singer posted an Instagram story showing them lounging on the sofa and kissing for camera.
A few days earlier, to mark Valentine's Day, Jessie also uploaded a funny video of her pulling a face as she cuddled up to the Magic Mike actor.
"Mines ❤️," she wrote.
23rd February 2020: On Saturday, Jessie shared an Instagram story video of her and Everly, Channing’s daughter dancing together. Captioning the video: “Scarf – 1, my turn – 4 lol, celery juice – 0, Evie – 100,” the pair appeared to be having a great time together.
Jessie covered Everly’s face with a unicorn emoji as Tatum and ex Jenna Dewan have agreed that their daughter would not be in any social media posts.
This is the first time Jessie has shared any posts of Everly since her and Channing recouped back in January and it comes days after Jenna revealed that her and fiancé Steve Kazee are engaged. The pair are also expecting their first child together.
4th April, 2020: Jessie J and Channing Tatum have split up again, according to reports. The pair got back together in January after spending a month apart, but have sadly now gone their separate ways for a second time.
"They cared enough about each other to try again but realised it was better to move on," a source spilled to People. "It’s totally amicable."
While another insider told The Sun: "Jessie and Channing really care for each other. You only need to look at the gushing posts they made about each other during their relationship to see that. That’s why they wanted to give their romance another shot, but sadly it hasn’t worked out."
The source added: "The split was amicable and they’re still in contact. They’re spending time apart and are open to meeting new people. But you shouldn’t bet against another reunion in the future."
The pair had been pretty silent on social media over the last month, with their last post together coming at the end of February when Jessie uploaded a picture of Channing's daughter Everly.
The singer and actor are yet to address the news themselves, but we hope they're both doing OK because break ups are never easy.
26th April, 2020:
Despite the fact the couple are broken up, Jessie J took to Instagram stories to wish Channing a happy 40th with a series of pictures and videos, tagging Channing in all of them.
In the first picture - a throwback of Channing swimming in the ocean - Jessie wrote a heartfelt birthday message to her ex, "Happy 40th Birthday to this special man right here. You are truly one of a kind. I am so grateful you were born, and even more grateful we met ❤️."
