Boss Baby 2 trailer: Alec Baldwin gets into the Family Business in sequel

In Dreamworks Animation's THE BOSS BABY: FAMILY BUSINESS, Alec Baldwin's Theodore Templeton is about to find out that money won't solve all of your problems. Especially if those troubles are waving a razor-sharp katana at your face.

A trailer for the upcoming sequel Dreamworks Animation's 2017 Oscar-nominated movie toddled online today that sets up pint-sized shenanigans aplenty while introducing new characters to the series, including a whip-smart 7-year old named Tabitha (Ariana Greenblatt) and a new infant named Tina (Amy Sedaris). The sequel will take place years after the 2017 film when both Templeton brothers – Tim (James Marsden) and his Boss Baby little bro Ted (Alec Baldwin) – have become adults and aren't nearly as close as they used to be.

Per Dreamworks Animation's announcement for the upcoming animated comedy:

“Tim and his super-mom wife Carol (Longoria) live in the suburbs with their super-smart 7-year-old daughter Tabitha (Greenblatt), and super-cute new infant Tina (Sedaris). Tabitha, who’s at the top of her class at the prestigious Acorn Center for Advanced Childhood, idolizes her Uncle Ted and wants to become like him, but Tim worries that she’s working too hard and is missing out on a normal childhood.

“When baby Tina reveals that she’s—ta-da!—a top-secret agent for BabyCorp on a mission to uncover the dark secrets behind Tabitha’s school and its mysterious founder, Dr. Armstrong (Goldblum), it will reunite the Templeton brothers in unexpected ways, lead them to re-evaluate the meaning of family and discover what truly matters.”

THE BOSS BABY: FAMILY BUSINESS is directed by Tom McGrath with a script by Michael McCullers. Joining Baldwin and Marsden for the sequel are Jimmy Kimmel, Lisa Kudrow, Eva Longoria, Amy Sedaris, and Jeff Goldblum as Dr. Edwin Armstorng.

Having never experienced the first Boss Baby film, I feel as if I'm at a disadvantage to comment much on what looks to be this very spirited sequel. That said, the trailer has this movie looking like quite the ride for your young audiences. Also, I must admit that I'm intrigued by the notion of katana-wielding toddlers in black pajamas and a super-smart 7-year-old who operates a questionable organization with ease. I mean, you've got to admire their spunk, right? After all, they're barely potty trained and are already making more money than I can ever hope to see in my entire life. That's a work ethic and a half if you ask me. You get yours, baby.

THE BOSS BABY: FAMILY BUSINESS is slated to crawl into theaters on March 26, 2021, though I would not be surprised if it's put down for a nap due to the ongoing pandemic. We'll be sure to let you know the score as we get closer to the film's release.
