India celebrates its 72nd Republic Day today. Many Bollywood celebrities took to social media to extend their wishes to their fans on the occasion. The stars also urged fans to understand not just our rights but our duties as well. From Amitabh Bachchan to Taapsee Pannu, the actors said we should read and understand Indian constitution.

Amitabh Bachchan shared three pictures of himself with Republic Day messages. He wrote, "26th January .. Republic Day. Happiness peace prosperity and .. be safe .. be protected (sic)."

TAAPSEE PANNU URGES FANS TO UNDERSTAND CONSTITUTION

Wishing fans a Happy Republic Day, Taapsee Pannu wrote that she hopes everyone reads and understands the constitution of India. She wrote, "On 72nd Republic Day here’s wishing and hoping that we all read and understand our constitution as much as we celebrate it. Will help us be more patriotic than what we actually are. Jai Hind #HappyRepublicDay2021 (sic)."

RAKUL PREET SINGH SAYS WE SHOULD UNDERSTAND OUR DUTIES

Rakul Preet Singh stressed upon the need to understand our duties. She wrote, "Happy Republic Day to all! I hope and pray that we understand our duties rights in true sense and exercise them to make our country an even better place to be in. Jai hind (sic)."

PRIYANKA CHOPRA BRINGS ATTENTION TO WOMEN LEADERS

Priyanka Chopra took this opportunity to bring attention to the role of women leaders in the formation of Indian constitution. She shared a video highlighting many such names including Vijaya Lakshmi Pandit and Sucheta Kripalani. She wrote, "I’ve been researching and reading a lot about women in governance across the world and how their skills have impacted communities and countries. It’s been enlightening, fascinating and so insightful to understand the importance of women in leadership. I’d like to share an interesting piece of information I came across recently and today seems to be the perfect day to post about what I learned."

She added, "Did you know that there were 15 women in the first Constituent Assembly of India and that they helped draft the Constitution of India? So inspiring and also an apt day to celebrate the effort of all those who helped build the fundamental principles of India. Happy Republic Day. "

SIDHARTH MALHOTRA WISHES OUR DEMOCRACY ALWAYS FLY HIGHER
