‘Little Nicholas-Happy as Can Be’ and ‘Amok’ Take Top Awards at Annecy 2022

Films by Amandine Fredon & Benjamin Massoubre and Balázs Turai among 22 winners at the jam packed 46th festival edition that saw a record 13,248 badge holders from 106 countries.

The 2022 edition of the Annecy International Animation Film Festival and Mifa ended last night, the biggest in event history, with 13,248 badge holders from 106 countries descending on the scorching hot, humid, and beautiful lakeside town of Annecy for a week dedicated to everything animation.

During the Saturday evening Closing Ceremony at the Bonlieu Grand Salle, Mickaël Marin, CEO of CITIA, the festival organizer, shared, “We promised you fireworks but this week was over and above our expectations! Firstly, in terms of attendance, but not only. Annecy 2022 is simply a reflection of how important animation film is worldwide: a major art form and an industry with remarkable agility that is constantly developing.”

22 Official Awards and Distinctions were presented by 6 juries (another 9 special prizes were awarded the previous day) They are as follows:
