During a hot mic moment, shock jock Howard Stern may have had a marvelous slip of the tongue or a TMI moment just one day after mulling over his Presidential run. A few days ago, reports surfaced that Marvel may have already cast the role of MCU’s Doctor Doom but did not reveal the lucky actor’s name. Supposedly, a suit has been created and fitted with some scenes featuring Doctor Doom and his bodyguards already shot.

MCU is notorious for its tight security in effort to avoid spoilers, but during a recent commercial break for the Howard Stern Show on XM Radio, seemingly slipped his involvement in the MCU. In the audio, one can hear him say:

“They’re going over the schedule with me, and it’s going to suck. I told you, I’m going to do ‘Doctor Doom.’ That’s the thing. But believe me, I’m f***ing miserable about it.”

To be clear, Stern was complaining about the schedule, not the opportunity to be a part of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. What is not clear, however, is Stern’s role in the project or whether this will be a major movie or a Disney+ series. When asked if he was excited to work on Doctor Doom, the 68-year-old replied that he did seek advice from an expert source: Iron Man himself, Robert Downey Jr.

“I called Robert Downey Jr. and I was asking him acting techniques.”

It is not known if Stern is tasked with playing Victor von Doom or if he is tagged be a part of a supporting cast for an unconfirmed Doctor Doom title. The fact that he reached out to Robert Downey Jr. for advice does indicate the project is a live action one as opposed to an animated series where acting techniques are not needed for voiceovers. Then again, could it be possible Stern was playing a joke on his listeners? So far, Marvel Studios have not responded to Stern’s possible leak.

If rumors and insinuations are true, Marvel has quietly filmed Doctor Doom scenes for Black Panther: Wakanda Forever. But the scenes were shot apart from the movie in an attempt to keep everything a secret. There is a chance Doctor Doom might appear for the first time during a post-credit scene at the end of Wakanda Forever, which opens November 11. The next installment in the MCU is Thor: Love and Thunder on July 8.
