The renowned film director behind such classics as Edward Scissorhands, Corpse Bride and Batman Returns, was spotted in a Dublin restaurant over the weekend.

Tim Burton, known for his distinctive style, was in Guinea Pig restaurant on Saturday night, where French chef-owner Jérôme Fernandes shared a photo of the star at the venue.

“Tonight, we had the pleasure of looking after Tim Burton, a gentleman, who also took the time for a photo with us. Lovely to have you @guineapigrestaurant in Dalkey @timburton,” he said.

It’s thought that filming for the new season of Wednesday, the popular Netflix series directed by Mr Burton, is likely to begin in Ireland soon.

The streaming giant confirmed last November that production of the second season of the hit series would move to Ireland.

Starring Jenna Ortega as the iconic Wednesday Addams, the show is among the most popular in the history of the streaming platform.

The first season saw it become the most popular English-language series on the platform, ahead of the fourth season of Stranger Things.

The first season was shot in Romania, and many of the locations became popular tourist attractions following the show’s meteoric rise.

Tim Burton isn’t the only big name to grace the capital recently, as Jamie Foxx, Nick Jonas, and Eric Cantona have also been spotted in Dublin in the past few months.
