Mad Max: Fury Road is revving its engines for the last time on Netflix in a move that's sure to shock cinephiles and critics alike.

The film, hailed by many as "one of greatest films this century," has scored a near flawless score on Rotten Tomatoes. Despite its success, fans have a numbered amount of days before it disappears from the streaming service. The dreaded "leaving soon" tag has been slapped on and viewers have until March 30 to watch it.

This Aussie-American action-packed spectacle takes place in a dystopian desert wasteland. It's the fourth installment in the Mad Max saga, featuring Tom Hardy and Charlize Theron, who team up for an epic vehicular war.

The 2015 blockbuster isn't shy of accolades – it bagged Best Picture plus nine other awards at the 2016 Academy Awards. It also received stellar reviews on Rotten Tomatoes, totaling a score of 97%.

Giving his two cents on the reviews website, film critic Leprechaun K enthused: "Movie was darn near perfect. Walked away knowing it will win a bunch of Oscars and it did."

Another viewer Sergio lavished praise too, noting on the same platform, "the praise is well deserved," and heaped accolades stating: "It took time, but George Miller has delivered a true masterpiece - original, inventive, and exhilarating. With outstanding performances and breathtaking production design, the film seamlessly blends artistic and technical brilliance."

At the heart of it all, Mad Max unfolds as a post-apocalyptic action film saga envisaged by George Miller and Byron Kennedy. Set against the backdrop of a ravaged Australian landscape teetering on the edge due to a global oil calamity, it's a story laced with impending warfare.

The original trilogy - comprising Mad Max (1979), Mad Max 2: The Road Warrior (1981), and Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome (1985) - starred Mel Gibson as the lead, before Tom Hardy took over the role of Max in the 2015 installment.

A prequel, titled Furiosa: A Mad Max Saga, hit screens last year. This film, featuring Anya Taylor-Joy, Chris Hemsworth, and Thom Burke, serves as the origin story of the rebellious warrior Furiosa, predating her alliance with Max in Fury Road.

The movie's synopsis outlines: "As the world fell, young Furiosa is snatched from the Green Place of Many Mothers and falls into the hands of a great Biker Horde led by the Warlord Dementus.

"Sweeping through the Wasteland, they come across the Citadel presided over by The Immortan Joe. While the two Tyrants war for dominance, Furiosa must survive many trials as she puts together the means to find her way home."
