County Jail
Ten people were booked in the Putnam County Jail recently.
Monday
• At 5:09 a.m. Allen Clark, 36, Lafayette, was housed at the jail on a local warrant.
Sunday
• At 5:18 p.m. Michael Isbill, 39, Indianapolis, was booked in on a local warrant.
• At 4:29 a.m. Wilson May III, 42, Attica, was lodged at the jail on a local warrant.
• At 12:05 a.m. Bryan Gremore, 22, Clayton, was taken into custody for driving with an ACE of .15 or greater.
Saturday
• At 8:24 a.m. Danyiel Bruton, 42, Tuscola, Ill., was housed at the jail for driving while intoxicated.
• At 2:02 a.m. Ronald Teague, 62, Reelsville, was booked in for driving while intoxicated.
Friday
• At 9:04 p.m. Kevin Smith, 55, Bainbridge, was lodged at the jail for possession of methamphetamine.
• At 4:18 p.m. Jordan Adams, 25, Poland, was taken into custody on a local warrant.
• At 10:06 a.m. Larry Shelley Sr., 74, Terre Haute, was housed at the jail for possession of methamphetamine, possession of marijuana and possession of paraphernalia.
Thursday
• At 10:30 p.m. Nathan Shoemaker, 35, Brazil, was booked in on an out-of-county warrant.
City Police
Six recent traffic citations were issued by Greencastle City Police officers:
• At 3:31 p.m. Saturday, Brandy Barnette, 43, Monticello, was ticketed by Det. Darrel Bunten.
Stopped at Washington and Locust streets, Barnette was cited for passing in a no-passing zone.
• At 5:22 p.m. Thursday, Alexander Batten, 32, Rockford, Ill., was cited by Officer Alec Pettit.
Stopped at Jackson and Frazier streets, Batten was ticketed for failure to obey signs and markings.
• At 3:30 p.m. Thursday, Parker Dickson, 17, Bainbridge, was ticketed by Officer Luke Brown.
Stopped at College and Shadowlawn avenues, Dickson was cited for disregarding a stopsign.
• At 3:20 p.m. Ryan Webster, 41, Sharpsville, was cited by Officer Brown.
Stopped at College and Shadowlawn avenues, Webster was ticketed for failure to obey signs and markings.
• At 2:45 p.m. Adolphus Davenport, 43, Indianapolis, was cited by Officer Brown.
Stopped at Jackson and Frazier streets, Davenport was ticketed for failure to obey signs and markings.
• At 12:56 p.m. Thursday, Amit Kumar, 33, Fresno, Calif., was ticketed by Officer Brown.
Stopped at Jackson and Frazier streets, Brown was ticketed for failure to obey signs and markings.
City Fire
The Greencastle Fire Department had numerous responses from Monday, March 3 through Monday, March 10.
• On Monday, at 3:38 p.m. GFD responded to an outside trash fire at 9601 S. CR 775 East, Cloverdale. Crews assisted Cloverdale Fire with an outside fire while they were in Owen County on a structure fire. Crews extinguished a small pile of debris. Once the fire was determined out, crews returned to service at 5:05 p.m.
• On Monday, at 6:31 p.m. crews were dispatched to a residential alarm at 1005 Barrington Dr. Upon arrival, crews determined that the alarm was set off due to cooking. Crews returned to service at 6:42 p.m.
• On Tuesday at 6:37 p.m. GFD was dispatched to a fire alarm at 330 Greenwood Ave. Upon investigation it was determined that the alarm system was set off due to cooking. Crews reset the alarm and returned to service at 7:03 p.m.
• On Wednesday at 3:19 a.m. crews were notified of downed power lines at 1366 E. CR 175 North. Crews arrived to find power lines down in the roadway. The road was closed with the assistance of law enforcement. REMC was called and upon their arrival they removed the lines. Crews returned to service at 5:10 a.m.
• On Wednesday at 2:55 p.m. GFD was made aware of a cooking fire at 626 E. Seminary St. Crews were dispatched to a fire alarm. Upon arrival, there had been a small fire on the stove top. The fire was extinguished prior to their arrival. Crews ventilated the building, reset the alarm and returned to service at 3:10 p.m.
• On Wednesday at 9:57 p.m. crews were dispatched to a fire alarm at 109 W. Hanna St. Upon investigation, crews were unable to determine what activated the alarm system. Crews reset the alarm and returned to service at 10:04 p.m.
• On Friday at 5:48 p.m. GFD responded to a fire alarm at 508 S. Jackson St. Upon investigation, it was determined that the alarm system was activated due to cooking. Crews reset the alarm and returned to service at 5:58 p.m.
• On Friday at 8:39 p.m. crews were dispatched to a fire alarm at 1 Taylor Place. Upon investigation, crews were unable to determine what activated the alarm system. Crews reset the alarm and returned to service at 8:50 p.m.
• On Saturday at 12:43 a.m. GFD arrived at a fire alarm at 916 S. College Ave. Upon investigation, it was determined the alarm system was activated due to cooking. Crews reset the alarm and returned to service at 12:53 a.m.
• On Saturday at 6:52 p.m. crews were notified of a fire due to an electrical issue at 407 W. Washington St. GFD was dispatched to a structure fire at the address. Upon arrival there had been a small fire that was extinguished prior to their arrival. Crews ensured the fire was out, ventilated the structure and returned to service at 4:48 p.m.
• On Sunday at 4:27 p.m. GFD responded to a grass fire at 505 W. Columbia St. Upon arrival, crews found a grass fire. Crews extinguished the fire and once it was determined out, returned to service at 4:48 p.m.
• On Sunday at 4:35 p.m. crews were dispatched to an unauthorized burning at 712 Ravenwood Dr. Upon arrival, crews determined that the homeowner was burning leaves which is against the city ordinance on burning. The fire was extinguished and crews returned to service at 5 p.m.
