The Town of Bethany Beach has announced the lineup for its 2025 summer concert series.
The Bethany Beach Seaside Concert Series will return to the bandstand on June 5 with changes for the 2025 season. Thursday concerts will resume in June, but the Town will also be adding Saturday nights to the July and August schedule, and in September and October moving from Sunday-night concerts to Friday-night concerts. Audience feedback influenced the change, officials said.
“Many of our seasonal property owners and visitors work during the week and can’t make the Thursday- or Sunday-night concerts,” said Events Director Julie Malewski. “The new schedule will allow locals and businesses to continue to benefit from weekday shows but will also offer weekend options.”
The summer concerts will begin at 7:30 p.m., with fall shows starting at 6:30 p.m. During Fourth of July week, the Town will host nightly events Sunday through Saturday, and the Labor Day weekend will showcase groups Friday through Sunday.
Of the 48 concerts scheduled, a quarter of them are tributes, meeting audience demand, Malewski said.
A total of 17 professional acts will be making their debut on the bandstand, including some well-known names, as well as local draws. They will join the roster of returning groups and crowd favorites. The series aims to reach the venue’s broad demographic, with music ranging from the 1950s through today.
June will feature Cimarron 615, who will be making a stop in Bethany on June 12. The group consists of four musicians from the country-rock band Poco and is named for the 1976 Poco classic “Rose of Cimarron” and Nashville’s 615 area code.
“The show delivers smooth harmonies and impressive instrumentation,” Malewski said.
Later that month will be a treat for the “fanilows” with Daybreak, The Music & Passion of Barry Manilow. The eight-piece ensemble is led by veteran musician and pianist Joe Hite, and covers Manilow’s classic hits.
July introduces a wave of new rock groups to the lineup. Among them is Satisfaction/The International Rolling Stones Show on July 1. The show, highly rated in Billboard, is entering its 25th year in production with more than 4,000 performances on its résumé. The show features an authentic cast and costumes, and spans favorite Stones classics. On July 26, Crash the Limo will deliver a modern rock concert covering hits from the 1990s to now. On July 31, Shot Thru the Heart will take audiences back to the arena rock concerts of the 1980s with a high-energy re-creation of the Bon Jovi experience.
This year’s Fourth of July Parade and fireworks will take place on Friday, July 4. Rick K.: Motown to Mars… and Beyond! will provide the evening entertainment. Backed by his all-star band, Rick K. blends six decades of iconic hits, from the soulful sounds of The Temptations and The Four Tops, the dance beat of K.C. & The Sunshine Band, to the modern groves of Pitbull and Ed Sheeran.
Kids/teen nights will once again take place each Wednesday in July. New to the lineup is The Shake It Up Jam on July 23. The dance party is run by Lisa Mathews, the former frontperson for Milkshake, a Grammy-nominated rock-and-roll show for kids. Michigan singer-songwriter Kanin Wren returns to the stage on July 30, this time with her “Boots and Bracelets” tour. The show features Wren’s original compositions, as well as tunes from country and pop artists including Olivia Rodrigo, Lainey Wilson, Chappell Roan, Sabrina Carpenter, Taylor Swift, Megan Moroney and more.
August brings two new country tributes to the stage. On Aug. 2, Why Not Me will deliver a true country show featuring songs from Reba McEntire, Garth Brooks and Wynonna Judd. On Aug. 9, the members of Uncaged will bring their thick harmonies and intricate instrumentals to deliver a performance of all things Zac Brown Band.
Firekite will kick off the Labor Day weekend on Aug. 28 with hits from the 1990s to today, with some oldies-but-goodies thrown in for good measure.
Cooler fall weather features the local classic-rock horn band Charlie and the Cool Tones on Sept. 20. On Sept. 26, The Del Vikings, “the group that put the ‘D’ in ‘Doo Wop,’” will hit the stage.
“This first successful integrated group in rock-and-roll recorded several hit singles in the 1950s, including ‘Come Go With Me’ and ‘Whispering Bells,’” Malewski noted. “Their Doo-Wop Revue also features hits by other legendary groups that they’ve performed with over the years, along with a tribute to the women of Doo-Wop by the Angel Babies.”
October will feature some local mainstays and special events. On Oct. 10, The Funsters, “Delaware’s premier Classic Rock ’n’ Soul Band,” will dbring a wide song list covering jazz crooners, pop rock, classic rock, 1980s hits and every genre in between. On Oct. 24, The Fitzkee Brothers, a jam/funk band out of Coastal Delaware, will bring their stylings to the stage. Oct. 18 will showcase a mini-Oktoberfest with Enzian Volkstanzgruppe, a traditional German/Bavarian dance band and dancers. The group is a member of the Delaware Saengerbund in Newark.
The series finale will be on Saturday, Oct. 25, with Puppy Pals Live! As seen on “America’s Got Talent,” the show is an action-packed family show where adopted and rescued dogs perform stunts and feats. Audiences can watch as Puppy Pals Live leads the puppies and audience through challenging and comical tricks “while the pooches show everyone who is really boss.” Full of canine stunts and comedy, the show has been a hit all over the U.S., Malewski said, noting that the act fits in well with the community Wags, Witches & Warlocks event scheduled for the same day. The show time will be after the Wags, Witches & Warlocks event ends, around noon.
All of the events are dependent upon weather and beach conditions.
Summer movies will take place on Mondays, June 2 through Aug. 25, with a location on the beach or bandstand depending on beach conditions. Fall movies will be shown on Fridays on the bandstand on Sept. 11, 18 and 25, all at dusk.
The Town of Bethany Beach offers these and other events for free to the public, including its Poseidon Festival, this year on May 24-26, and the Songwriter Showcase, May 30 through June 1. More details and weather updates will be posted at www.townofbethanybeach.com, under Activities and on the Town’s social media pages.
