Every member of White Lotus 3 cast gets paid the same, even credits are done in alphabetical order, reveals show’s executive producer
On White Lotus 3, everyone gets the same paycheck and billing is alphabetical, creators Mike White and David Bernad reveal. Not even A-listers get special treatment.

Fame might get you a lot, but it won’t get you a bigger paycheck on While Lotus. Show creator Mike White and executive producer David Bernad recently opened up about the series’ unusual way of deciding salary, and crediting stars, and surprisingly, it does not follow any kind of hierarchy. While each episode of the comedy anthology series features luxury brands and tourists vacationing decked up in pricey clothing, speaking to The Hollywood Reporter, the show’s executive producer David Bernad revealed that unlike other shows that depend on billing order based on a character’s importance to the story, they choose to do it alphabetically.
White Lotus season 3 cast salary
“Everyone is treated the same on The White Lotus. They get paid the same, and we do alphabetical billing,” producer David Bernad said. According to him, the policy was first enforced during season 1 when there was barely any money to make the show. “So you’re getting people who want to do the project for the right reasons, not to quote The Bachelor,” he said. For the unversed, season 1 of The White Lotus was filmed during the pandemic and ran low on budget. Each episode was reportedly made for less than $4 million. Season 3, by comparison, is said to cost around $6 million per episode.

Casting director Meredith Tucker added that the process makes it much easier for them to deal with demands. “You tell people this is what it is. And some won’t do it — and honestly, you can’t hold it against people who need to make a living,” he said, adding that only the series regulars agree to come onboard at the given pay scale. While the creators didn’t reveal the exact figure, according to the outlet, they make roughly $40,000 per episode.

According to Bernad, they’re so strict about their paycheck rule that there’s no room for negotiation, even if you’re an A-lister. According to THR, Woody Harrelson, who was initially considered for the role of Rick Hatchett, went all the way to the higher-ups, including Warner Bros Discovery CEO David Zaslav, to try and get a pay bump. But the deal didn’t go through. However, Bernad said Harrelson still signed on for the role but later had to drop out due to scheduling conflicts. The role eventually went to Walton Goggins.
The White Lotus 3 will air its finale this weekend.
