This edition will feature some new features, including the addition of more prizes. According to a statement sent to VerAngola, this year, "in addition to the best films in the international and national competition and the Special GPL award – Luanda needs you, the national competition will award 'Best Image' and 'Best Editing' (both with a prize of 500,000.00 kwanzas)."

The festival, whose artist Bynelde Hircam was invited to create the poster for this 4th edition, will take place between April 10th and 16th, in various spaces, such as Cinemax Fortaleza, Camões – Centro Cultural Português, among others.

The festival will feature the usual international and national competitions. In the national competition, which aims to "raise awareness of the most recent Angolan national production in short and feature-length formats", ten films are competing.

They are "Memória Viva" by William Ribodias; "A Beleza da Mulher Rural", by Junice de Carvalho; "Comunidade com Consciência Sustentável", by Moisés Zuane; "Precisamos de Ouvir Todos", by Beni Dya Mbaxi; and "Fuckin Globo", by Kamy Lara.

"Bonga, falar de Assim", by Edilson Ngunza; "Sou a Ana", by Joshua Filmmaker; "Mil Maneiras de Viver", by Sofia Martins; "Mona Wazediwa", by Henrique Sungo and Filipe Anjos; and "Fazenda da Esperança Feminina", by Luz Feliz, are also in the national competition.

In the international competition, which aims to showcase recent authors and titles from world cinema, films from countries such as Colombia, Portugal, Brazil, Mozambique, Cape Verde, among others, participate.

The festival will also have thematic and non-competitive sessions, whose "intention is to show little-seen films that are important to the culture and history of Angola, but also to focus on authors and filmographies from world cinematography".

Masterclasses/meetings, which consist of "conversations and meetings with the public around topics of interest and importance for the development of Angolan cinema", are also part of this edition of DocLuanda.

The program also includes shows/performing arts, and the 4th edition will feature a show by the duo Ohali, as well as a book and DVD fair and exhibitions.

In the field of exhibitions, for this edition, the "renowned researcher Maria do Carmo Piçarra was invited to organize the exhibition 'Independence in the archives: 50 years of cinema and utopia'".

A tribute session is also planned, with the Tribute Trophy being awarded to Nguxi dos Santos and the Sarah Maldoror Trophy being awarded to Billy Woodberry.

"Cinema sessions remain free," the note also states.
