UTA has signed Academy Award-nominated actor Yura Borisov for representation in all areas.
One of Russia’s most celebrated actors, Borisov received international acclaim for his performance in Sean Baker’s 5-time Oscar-winning “Anora,” which also won the Palme d’Or at the 2024 Cannes Film Festival. In addition to earning him an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actor, Borisov’s work in the film also earned him nominations for BAFTA, Golden Globe, Gotham, and Film Independent Spirit Awards in the same category.
In the film, he plays Igor, a soft-spoken henchman with a heart of gold who’s tasked with wrangling Mikey Madison’s rebellious and unpredictable Ani.
Borisov was the first actor Baker reached out to, before the “Anora” script was ready and Madison was involved, having seen his turn as a boorish, drunk Russian miner on a train in “Compartment No. 6.” “He saw the film in Cannes and about a year later called me up and said we should do his next movie together,” Borisov told Variety. “Compartment No. 6” won the Grand Prix at the 2021 Cannes Film Festival and landed him a European Film Award nomination for Best Actor.

Additional credits include “Captain Volkonogov Escaped,” which was nominated for the Golden Lion at the 2021 Venice Film Festival, and “Anna K,” Netflix’s only Russian original series, in which he played Levin.
Borisov’s latest role sees him playing one of the most famous Russians of all time, literary icon Alexander Pushkin, in biopic “The Poet.”
Borisov will continue to be represented by ColorCreative, Gang, Tyre, Ramer, Brown & Passman, and Sunshine Sachs Morgan & Lylis.
