A number of new movies and limited television series will debut this week, including the following titles opening in theaters or premiering via video on demand on various streaming platforms:
‘Sinners’

‘The Legend of Ochi’

In a remote village on the island of Carpathia, a shy farm girl named Yuri (Helena Zengel) is raised to fear an elusive animal species known as ochi. But when Yuri discovers a wounded baby ochi has been left behind, she escapes on a quest to bring him home.
The film is scheduled to be released by A24 in limited theaters on April 18, before a wide release on April 25.
‘The Wedding Banquet’

Frustrated with his commitment-phobic boyfriend Chris (Bowen Yang) and running out of time, Min (Han Gi-chan) makes a proposal: a green-card marriage with their friend Angela (Kelly Marie Tran) in exchange for her partner Lee's (Lily Gladstone) expensive IVF. Elopement plans are upended, however, when Min's grandmother surprises them with an extravagant Korean wedding banquet.
“The Wedding Banquet” is a poignant and heartfelt reminder that being part of a family means learning to both accept and forgive.
The film is scheduled to be released by Bleecker Street on April 18.
‘Sneaks’

“Sneaks” follows a pair of one-of-a-kind, collector sneakers, Ty (Anthony Mackie), and Maxine (Chloe Bailey), stolen by the Collector (Laurence Fishburne). In their attempt to escape, Ty ends up separated from his sister in the middle of New York City. Alone, and desperate to find her, Ty meets with JB (Martin Lawrence), a streetwise, scuffed up sneaker with an affinity for anything shiny, learning that your best life begins when you get out of your box.
The film is scheduled to be released by Briarcliff Entertainment on April 18.
