KC Wolf visits Springfield to help students get excited for upcoming MAP testing
SPRINGFIELD, Mo. (KY3) - MAP testing begins soon for Missouri students. At Springfield Public Schools, the testing will happen at various schools starting next Wednesday. It then goes through May 10th.
The assessment testing covers English, Math, Science, and Social Studies for various grades. It’s done to see how well students are performing in these subject areas.
Some schools host pep rallies to build up excitement for the coming test days. Kids at Wilson’s Creek Intermediate School even got a surprise visit from the Kansas City Chiefs mascot, KC Wolf!
”Yeah, we’ve got a special guest showing up today. We do have a couple of Chiefs fans in the house, and we have some faculty members who are diehard Chiefs fans, so we think this will be a welcome addition to our celebration today. We want the kids to feel loved, appreciated, and we feel like it will give them the energy they need to do well,” said Dr. Ron Woodard, the principal at Wilson’s Creek Intermediate School.
To help your child succeed, SPS says make sure your kids get plenty of rest and charge their Chromebooks. SPS also says attendance and a healthy breakfast are very important
