Rohit Shetty delivered a blockbuster with Shah Rukh Khan in the form of Chennai Express, which released in 2013. However, their second collaboration, Dilwale didn’t perform as per expectations. Post that, there rumours of fallout between the megastar and filmmaker.
However, the Singham Again helmer has now put an end to all the speculations and said that there is not bad blood between them. “Nahi aisa kuch nahi," said Rohit Shetty dismissing the fallout rumours between him and SRK in an interview with Komal Nahta on the Game Changers podcast.
“Ek respect hai humare beech me aur Dilwale ke baad ye hua ki immediately phir humne humare khud ki production house kholi. Humne decide kiya ki hum khud ki filmein banayenge. Agar loss bhi ho to humara ho, jabki loss nahi hua tha," said Rohit Shetty.
The director also clarified that Dilwale, which was produced Shah Rukh Khan and Gauri Khan’s Red Chillies Entertainment, was a major success overseas despite the underwhelming domestic response.
On the professional front, Shah Rukh Khan will be next seen in King. “The next film that I’m doing King, I have to start working on it. (I have to) Lose some weight, stretch a little so my groin doesn’t get caught when I’m doing action. It’s painful and hurtful. I have a bag full of icing machines. So you keep doing it.
“It’s the worst thing to see me on sets after action. I look really cool in the film. After that I’m tired, somebody is pressing my back, I can’t walk, and then suddenly you see people, and you give flying kisses,” the 58-year-old told festival’s artistic director Giona A Nazzaro at the session.
The film also features Suhana Khan and Abhishek Bachchan in prominent roles.
