Movie fans have a bizarre theory that a showbiz spat is brewing between Blake Lively and Jennifer Garner, after an old clip of the latter resurfaced online.

An unearthed clip of Jennifer, 53, larking around on set of a show sees her talking to a statue of a witch. The statue is of Marvel star Elizabeth Olsen's character Scarlet Witch in Dr Strange in the Multiverse of Madness from 2022.

However, Jennifer's chat with the statue has sparked a frenzy with fans convinced she is referencing Gossip Girl star Blake, who recently walked the red carpet at the NYC premiere of Another Simple Favor.

In the video, Jennifer is herd saying: "This is where I go to commune with Blake Lively. [Let's] see how she's doing," before turning the camera to face the stone statue.

She then says to the sculpture: "How you doing, Blake? You lookin' good!" And it seems this was enough to send fans over the edge about whether Jennifer was talking about Blake, 37, who starred alongside Jennifer's ex-husband Ben Affleck in the 2010 movie The Town.

Jennifer has also worked with Blake's husband, Ryan Reynolds, as the duo both starred in 2024's Deadpool & Wolverine.

Upon watching the old video, fans flocked to Reddit to discuss it as one person commented: "That's a statue of Scarlet Witch from the Marvel Universe... is she calling Blake Lively a witch?"

Another person wrote: "People keep saying Garner and Lively are friendly... but I dare you to find a photo of them together... ever..." and a third Reddit user said: "That was shade."

A fourth person added: "People keep saying Garner and Lively are friendly... but I dare you to find a photo of them together... ever..."

It comes after a body language expert dissected Blake's recent appearance on the red carpet, where she was joined by Ryan, whom she shares four children with.

According to Judi James, who analyzed their red carpet photos and videos for the DailyMail, there seemed to be a clear dynamic between Ryan and Blake and she seemed to be giving him "hand signals."

Judi said: “Blake's directive hand signals to Ryan on the red carpet show, not only her previously-illustrated fondness for directing the action out on the red carpet, but also Ryan's loyal and obedient-looking responses that create the look of sticking his nose straight into a human hand-propellor.

“It's hard to see if Blake's circling, winding hand gesture is aimed at someone else further along the red carpet or if it's a signal to Ryan to motivate him to set off to work the camera poses. It looks like she's winding up clockwork or doing some kind of countdown to rev him into instant action before he gets that extra push or nudge on the back from her other hand as he sets off.

“His eyes almost hint at some hypnotic effect although Ryan is know for his ironic sense of humor so the facial expression could just be performed to get a laugh here," Judi added.
