Icelandic actor Ingvar E. Sigurðsson has been awarded Best Actor at the Brussels Short Film Festival (BSFF) for his performance in O (Hringur), directed by Rúnar Rúnarsson and produced by Heather Millard.

The award was announced at the festival’s closing ceremony last night, held with pomp and celebration in the Belgian capital.

O (Hringur) is described as a poetic exploration of a man who yearns to stand out, but finds his greatest obstacle in himself. The film had its world premiere at the Venice Film Festival last autumn and has since been making the rounds at international festivals.

This marks the film’s ninth award and it has also been shortlisted for the 2025 European Film Awards.
