Music legend Morrissey is finally back in Manchester and will be treating fans to a homecoming show this weekend. Fresh from two nights in Glasgow, he'll be delighting fans with some of his biggest hits.

His Co-op Live show on June 7 will be his biggest ever Manchester gig and his first time at the new 23,500 capacity venue.

Morrissey had teased a major announcement was on its way earlier this year, sending fans into a frenzy of speculation.

Announcing the news on Instagram back in February, the Morrissey Official account said: "The only time Morrissey will perform in Ireland, Scotland and England in 2025."

It shared the dates as Dublin, 3 Arena 31 May, Glasgow, 02 Academy Glasgow 4 & 5 June and Manchester, Co-Op Live 7 June.

The Co-op Live gig will also be his first in his home city since 2022, when he played at the 02 Apollo at Ardwick.

That gig had particular significance for Smiths fans, as it marked 40 years to the day that the band had first played in Manchester.

The solo star, 65, last year claimed that he and former Smiths bandmate, guitarist Johnny Marr, had been made a "lucrative" offer to tour as The Smiths in 2025, which he had accepted but which Marr had "ignored." He also claimed he had blocked a new greatest hits release.

The Smiths had a string of hits in the 1980s with songs including There Is A Light That Never Goes Out and This Charming Man.

But the band split in 1987 after just five years together. Since then Morrissey has enjoyed an successful solo career, whilst never shying away from controversy with his forthright views.

At his first gig in Glasgow this week he played songs including All You Need Is Me, Rebels Without Applause, I will See You in Far-Off Places and Irish Blood, English Heart.
