In a unique arrangement, DC Universe’s upcoming Stargirl series will also have a home on The CW. Variety reports that the series, which is set to premiere on DC Universe next year, will be airing each episode on the broadcast network the day after they debut on the streaming service.

In addition, Business Insider reports that the character will briefly make its debut during the upcoming five-episode Crisis of Infinite Earths crossover that kicks off in December and will end in January. The appearance will detail how the character fits into the “bigger DC live-action universe.”

It is worth noting that the series is also being described as family-friendly, and not an R-rated series like its DC Universe brethren in Titans, Doom Patrol, Harley Quinn, and the cancelled Swamp Thing. Doom Patrol also has a unique airing situation, as it will simultaneously stream on DC Universe and HBO Max. Titans will remain an exclusive to DC Universe.

Stargirl follows high school sophomore Courtney Whitmore (Brec Bassinger) as she inspires an unlikely group of young heroes to stop the villains of the past. It also stars Amy Smart as Barbara Whitmore, who — now that teenage Courtney is older — is jumping back into the workforce and striving to be the best mother and provider she can be to her daughter, her new husband (Luke Wilson), and her new stepson (Trae Romano). Neil Jackson and Hunter Sansone will both play as-yet-unrevealed DC characters.
