“This was one of my all-time favorite jams!!! It was so much fun to work and make music with such an awesome group of kids,” said Mckayla Twiggs. “It was a lot of fun to play the character Ariana Grande (one of my idols) played in Hairspray Live!”
"Hairspray Live!" featured Maddie Baillio as Tracy Turnblad, Harvey Fierstein as Edna Turnblad, Kristin Chenoweth as Velma Von Tussle, Garrett Clayton as Link Larkin, Ariana Grande as Penny Pingleton, Jennifer Hudson as Motormouth Maybelle, Dove Cameron as Amber Von Tussle, Ephraim Sykes as Seaweed J. Stubbs, Derek Hough as Corny Collins, Martin Short as Wilbur Turnblad and Shahadi Wright Joseph as Little Inez Stubbs. The original Broadway cast of Hairspray included Marissa Jaret Winokur as Tracy, and Harvey Fierstein as Edna. The cast also featured Matthew Morrison as Link, Laura Bell Bundy as Amber, Kerry Butler as Penny, Linda Hart as Velma, Mary Bond Davis as Motormouth Maybelle, Corey Reynolds as Seaweed, Jackie Hoffman as Matron, Dick Latessa as Wilbur, and Clarke Thorell as Corny Collins.
Broadway Kids Jam features kids from various Broadway shows, Broadway national tours, movies, TV shows, animated series and commercials who love to jam and make music.
“Hairspray' was one of my favorite musicals when I was younger. It’s so much fun to play this music, and even more fun to play it with my friends,” said Joshua Turchin.
